Sonia spent 13 years with Sony Electronics, where she held engineering and strategic roles with business responsibilities spanning multiple markets. As a Liaison for Sony in Latin America, she successfully provided leadership and subject matter expertise to teams in the execution of projects from concept, design, through planning to implementation.
At Sony, Sonia implemented innovative and non-traditional processes that provides technical support for Sony VAIO computers in Latin America through social media. She effectively launched a Twitter channel in Brazil dedicated to addressing technical support issues for customers. All key performance indicators for this new process were achieved while bringing structure and oversight to customer service operations.
Sonia's career includes operational positions in manufacturing, quality, vendor management, refurbishment operations and customer service. She is a graduate of the Institute of Technology in Veracruz, Mexico, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering and is a graduate from the Master of Science in Executive Leadership (MSEL) program at the University of San Diego.
Currently Sonia is serving on the Advisory Board of the Hispanic Chamber of E-commerce (HISCEC) an organization that fosters the adoption of Internet business solutions to enhance the competitiveness of the Hispanic business and she is also a contributor to the #LatinaGeeks blog, an online community that empowers Latin women to leverage the use of technology, digital and social media for their personal and professional growth.
